Maryland Institute College of Art - Baltimore - Art History, Theory &
Criticism department invites applications for Enlightenment/Visual Culture
full-time appointment for with a multi-year renewable contract in a
non-tenure institution beginning: Fall, 2008 for a specialist in the art and
visual culture of the seventeenth-nineteenth centuries. Ph.D. in Art History
or related discipline. Knowledgeable about impact of various technologies on
the art and culture of this period. Theoretical interest in the role of the
Enlightenment and/or colonialism. Strong competence in a second, distinct
geographic field or theoretical area. Ability to work in a collaborative
environment, participating in departmental and college activities and
committees. Enjoy working with college students. Salary: Commensurate with
experience and college policy; excellent benefits package. The College will
