ARTS FESTIVAL SEEKS NEW MEDIA WORK FROM AUSTRALIA / ASIA PACIFIC REGION Australian new media arts organisation, MAAP (MULTIMEDIA ART ASIA PACIFIC) prepares to present online and live from 12-14 October its fourth Festival featuring innovative digital artworks from Australia and the Asia Pacific regions. MAAP is now seeking submissions for this year’s festival from artists relating to Australia/Asia Pacific regions. We are looking to promote websites, cd-rom, video and new media forms. The theme for this year is "Excess" considering the theme of extremes and waste, by-product, recycling media, minimalism and maximalism.Approaching the theme literally may take ideas into excessive and extreme postions. We are also interested to hear of curatorial proposals and current
projects that may partner with the festival. Deadline 10 June 2000 (some extensions available on
request) – submit to info@maap.org.au The public program is presented in three streams: See, Seek and Speak.
Free cinema-screening program in the Brisbane Powerhouse. Developing programs -
