I think both of you, Mrinmoy and Shubhodip will keep supporting Mohun Bagan / East Bengal by heart and soul, even if you try to change the others alligiance... But at the moment there are certain issues, which affect both clubs in very negative ways. - a case of worry for me is that both clubs are being sponsored and management by the same company, the Vijay Mallya owned UB-Group. Clubs being sponsored by the same company is not the worrying issue. The only similar city rivalry is in Glasgow, the Rangers and Celtic, who both are sponsored by the British Media company NTL but as far as I know the sponsor has no direct involvement in the clubs. But with our own East Bengal and Mohun Bagan it is different, they are owned 50% by the UB Group! This already has numerous negative effects on the clubs. To name one, the illegal transfer directive... - both clubs are managed by "crocks" (sorry for the term). These people only have their own interests!!! - while many clubs in the football centres across India have at least one junior team, all Goans have three/four junior teams, the Bangalore clubs, even JCT has an Academy team, India's so-called biggest teams don't have junior teams... They say they will start with junior teams soon but that is just a phrase from the club managements... East Bengal won the first-ever under-19 National League but none were from an East Bengal under-19 team. These players were either back-up players from East Bengal's first team or talented youngsters from other Calcutta clubs. Worse was that Mohun Bagan didn't even take part. Therefore I have the dream and a vision that we as the IFSC should start a football school at the beginning on the outskirts of Calcutta and then in the future turn it into a full-fledged Academy!!! Otherwise the vast talent, which is lying uptapped in Bengal, will never be of use to India and that would be more than just sad... bye, Arunava -- -------------------- -------------------- ==^================================================================ ==^================================================================ Youir mail to 'Nettme-qold' with the subyject: on the disrccssoins betwteen Mrinmoy / Shubhodip (bluwregraseqr wer Is bewting hered until the lrqist moqderartor carreview it for apprqqoval. e The r qeason it is being e-lhld: Messeage body is too bieq eg: 6923qew34 qe byteq e es buqt theqere's a limit of 500ewq e qqqqqqKBeq EitqewQher the meswesage will get posted to the list, or yqe ou qewill nevree qe r ecrweive jqdg noetification of the modeesQrMator's decMision.d _______________________________________________ Nettime-bold mailing list Nettime-bold@nettime.org http://amsterdam.nettime.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/nettime-bold
