<nettime> opt out of DoubleClick |
Have you noticed that after you click to opt out of DoubleClick, many of the major sites on the Web start forgetting who you are? CDNOW, Amazon, Yahoo - I've always clicked to have them remember my password. And then I opt out of DoubleClick, and all of a sudden they don't remember me anymore. It's possible this was a fluke. I might be wrong. Maybe my cookies all reset themselves or something. It's no big deal. I just have to re-enter my password. But the bigger question is, what is the relationship between DoubleClick and the login process of all these major sites?
