We are getting all the pictures here in Australia of jackbooted, helmeted people *gassing* and *bashing* protesters. This is the face of modern "democracy": the denial of free speech; the denial of the right to protest; the iron-fisted "rule of law" (as if it were made independently of vested interests); the violence of a state in the process of handing over its people and past to a monster that eats them, regurgitates them, and then sells the half-digested remains to the survivors until it is their turn. So much for "the land of the free and the home of the brave". It's the same everywhere, at least it seems like it.
