<nettime> Follow the money...

One of the ways that so much unaccountability happens in society is that money
has no history... we never know what we are inadvertently supporting by passing
along particular currency.

I propose to change all this by instituting the $100 bill registry data base...
log on to:

www.watchthemoney.com

Simply type in the serial numbers of all $100 bills in your position, every time
you happen upon one. When you spend any of them log on to the web site, type the
serial number in and
describe WHAT you bought with the money... be careful not to implicitly accuse
anyone of illegal activity (for illegal drug purchases simply type the kind of
drug purchased). For bribery and kickbacks indicate the general nature of the
transaction.... Republican Party US for Iran arms purchase.... Democratic vote
purchases in Minnesota, etc.

To view the prior history of $100 bills simply type in the serial numbers. To
examine how $100 bills collectively have been spent, ask for the simple or
complex, detailed categorization. Google style searches may also be conducted.

To examine the history of a given $100 bill PRIOR to accepting it in a
transaction, simply type in the serial number and select "View History". If you
are dissatisfied with the background check of the given $100 bill, simple note
that on this particular date you have
elected to refuse this particular bill as currency.

One anticipates that over time bills with dirty history will be forced to trade
at severe discounts, the eventual outcome is to drive the value to zero... or a
trade in at the laundry (U.S. Treasury office).
