Here is a case study of how Russian disinformation is getting picked up by US "journalists" and then amplified by the right - and I would add, the left. I've had friends on the left repeat Patrick Lancaster's lies about Ukrainian forces in Mariupol using civilians as human shields:

The author, Joohn Choe, is a Meta whistleblower who exposed that Facebook was still allowing fake accounts spreading disinformation.
