This statement is factually incorrect: there is no evidence that Israel is embarking “with intent” on genocide. War crimes, or crimes against humanity, are more appropriate for defining the brutal treatment the Palestinians suffer under occupation.

Declaring that Israel is “committing genocide”, in Gaza or elsewhere, is a recurring figure. Levelled against Israel, and by extension against the Jewish people who founded the country, such an accusation is heavily charged. It operates as a deliberate attempt to relativise the Shoah.

Such a statement can be interpreted as being antisemitic.
