Yours sincerely Kerstin Bergmann assistant to the Principal Academy of Media Arts Cologne Combining theory and practise, the Academy of Media Arts teaches its students an artistic use of media. In the interdisciplinary and project focused Audio-Visual Media Programme students work together with teachers and fellows in the four key areas of the academy: Film and Television, Media Art, Media Design and Media Studies. The Academy of Media Arts is looking to immediate fill a vacancy for a: Professorship - Gender and Media - <C 4 BBesO> The professor should represent a critical discourse on culturally generated gender relations in the media, giving high priority to women centered perspectives in teaching and research. The professor should combine theoretical and historical contents with the new medial artistic forms of expression. We are looking for a person with outstanding achievements concerning both the research of and the practical-artistical discourse on gender relations in the media. The suitable candidate is expected to engage in interdisciplinary and project orientated work and collaborate in the further structuring of the academy is expected. Prefernce will be given to candidates with disabilities having the same qualifications.
