THE BERLIN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL IS PLANNING TO MAKE A NANOSCREEINING DURING THE FESTIVAL IN BERLIN, BEGIN NOVEMBER. WE WOULD LIKE TO SHOW THE E-PRAECOX VERSION OF THE 'EROTICA' EDITION THERE AS WELL. WHAT IS NANOFESTIVAL? ZEROGLAB NANOFESTIVAL is a parasite, portable, adoptable, resizable, open source, international art festival for extreme short (10 sec.!) web movies and software art. Nanofestival as an event is also establishing a new model for cultural engineering. Not only the individual works that are open source, but the whole festival can be 'picked, taken and presented' for free, and by anyone on a single cd-rom. The event is organized by ZEROGLAB, an independent art-lab in Rotterdam. [http://www.xs4all.nl/~are ] The festival is a sequence of events, with a different theme every time. If you like the idea and want to participate, please fill the entry form at the end of this page and send it to: Károly Tóth <mailto:nanofestival@xs4all.nl> Please include: "nanofestival v.03 submission" in the subject line. CONTRIBUTION / MODERATION / ETC. Anyone can contribute. After sending your entry form, please place your work at your own website, or in a place where anyone can access it. We have only a limited web space on our own, so we are not able to store large movie files. Nevertheless, we are building a archive of the submitted works. The screenings are editions, and not presenting all the submitted works. The reason for this is rather technical. Because many works are not in movie file format, it is sometimes not possible to convert them to mini-dv or streaming video, or the like. The nano website contains all submissions in the form of a somewhat criptic database. PLEASE MAKE SURE, YOUR WEB LINKS ARE WORKING BY 31 OCTOBER 2003 4. COPYRIGHT ISSUES By submitting your work to the festival, you agree that you let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work and derivative works based upon it but for noncommercial purposes only, and only if they give you credit.
