in the humanities, and have made acquaintance with such areas ascyberculture, digital humanities, information aesthetics and visualization,
Internet studies, media arts, media history, media theory and/or virtualethnography. Internet skills are essential, as is up-to-date knowledge of
Internet culture. Practical experience in working with Web-based applications (e.g., blogs and wikis) is desirable. The new media and digital culture team is part of the Media Studies department and concerns itself with research strategies for the criticalstudy of Internet culture. The Assistant Professor is expected to teach on both the bachelor's and master's degree levels, in courses concerned with
such topics as digital journalism, digital aesthetics, Internet researchmethods and techniques, media archaeology as well as the politics of code.
