Conference: 2nd of December '02, Monday at 7pm.
Platform Garanti Contemporary Art Center will host a talk by
Swedish curator Anders Kreuger on Monday 2nd December
'02.
Kreuger
will talk about his concept for the exhibition, "Prophetic
Corners" defined as "an exhibition about the future", which will
take place in the 3rd Periferic Biennial. The talk will be
illustrated by visuals and will begin at 7pm.
Inspired by a quote of Walter Benjamin, the 3rd Periferic
Biennial brings together twenty artists from a number of different
contexts. The exhibition is to be held in Iasi in Northeastern
Romania from May-June 2003. The venues include a disused Turkish
bath and the Palace of Culture, a former court of law that now
houses four museums.
Kreuger
is one of the most important freelance curators of North European
and Baltic countries. He is also the founder of one of the most
prestigious institutions in the art world, NIFCA (Nordic Institute
for Contemporary Art).
Writer
and art critic Esra Aliçavuşoğlu, and artists Nadi Güler
and Özge Açıkkol participated in the 2nd Periferic Biennial in
2001 with the support of Platform Garanti Contemporary Art
Center. |
