Â
Argument:
investigativÄ a spaÈiului domestic, standardizat prin aplicarea unei anumite
viziuni a arhitecturii contemporane.
colectivÄ a unei comunitÄÈi.
INTERLOCK
transpune identitatea locatarului, a vecinului, a chiriaÈului sau a proprietarului
Ãntr-o privire Åi dinamicÄ participativÄ a publicului. Observatorul acestui
Åi arhitecturii moderniste presupunea o organizare vizualÄ raÅionalÄ a
spaÅiului Ãn vederea unei trÄiri estetice Åi morale Ãn comun. Aplicarea
principiilor gÃndirii moderniste a partajÄrii spaÅiului locuirii ÃmpreunÄ a
implicat Ãn timp o degradare a calitÄÅii perceperii relaÅiilor cu ceilalÅi Åi a
proprietÄÅilor ÃnÅelegerii peisajului urban. DeÅi structurarea geometricÄ Åi
funcÅionalÄ a spaÅiului interior Åi exterior presupunea un raport echilibrat
Ãntre viaÅa intimÄ Åi cea publicÄ, punerea Ãn practicÄ a organizÄrii
locuinÅelor Åi a planificÄrii urbane segmentate a creat certitudinea unui
clivaj Ãntre aspiraÅie Åi realizare.
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ INTERLOCK intervine la
nivelul conÅtiinÅei vizitatorului asemenea unui dispozitiv estetic care vizeazÄ
producerea unei reflecÅii atÃt asupra perceperii dinamicii trÄirii personale
cÃt Åi asupra raportului avansat dintre bazele unei structuri arhitecturale
ideale Åi cÃmpul real de implementare a locuirii Ãn spaÅiul construit Åi cel
urban.â

Â
Project applied in the frame of the programme Carte
Blanche aux Jeunes CrÃateurs, financially and logistically supported by
Institut FranÃais in IaÅi in partnership with Vector Studio (UAGE).
Â
Argument:
Â
âWithin a few years the workers [â] transformed their all-but-identical
Corbusian cubes into uniquely differentiated, private spaces capable of
reminding them of the things which their working lives had stripped away.â
Â
(Alain de Botton, in âThe Architecture of Happinessâ)
Â
INTERLOCK Project proposes the introspective exploration and the
investigative perception of the domestic space, standardized through the
application of a certain contemporary architectural vision. The metaphorical
term âinterlockâ indicates both a building design with its associated behaviour,
and a set of semantic relationships between the conduits of inhabitants (interlocutors)
in a (communist) apartment block, the identity blocking of a dweller that
interacts with the apartment block where he/she lives, and the modes of
perception and participation of the public exposed to the exhibitional
intervention.
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ The fast
industrialisation, whose consequences were emphasized by the imperative
globalisation, forced authorities to build new living units in urban
environment, spaces that de-located identities and their semantics, bringing
prejudices to the intimacies of the dwellers and proving discrepancies with
their personal aesthetic visions. Individual living spaces do not take just a
physical place dominated by a visible tyranny of measurements and
delimitations, but they re-compose, mentally, the communitarian collective
identity and memory.
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ The self becomes social on
a default route and acts as an observer, exclude himself/herself, but in the
same time sees himself/herself, makes comparisons and is looking for an
identity. The experience of default routes, as typical behavioural skills in
the living spaces, defines a space of alienation.
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ In relation with the
experience of self, the living apartment block becomes the study matter of the
exhibition and offers the image of a laboratory in which the human behaviours
are (re)produced. INTERLOCK transposes the identity of the dweller, the
neighbour, the tenant or the landlord in a participative look and dynamics of
the public. The observer of this laboratory is brought to a unique state,
individual and individualistic, to a common denominator of participation, in
accordance with the social act of living together and the supervision of this
life. In this equation, the inhabited space transforms in a container of an
idealized form of lifestyle. Â
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ The utopian ideal of the
modernist life and architecture presupposed a rational visual organization of
space for a common aesthetic and moral living. The application of the
principles of modernist thinking to share the space of living together implied,
in time, a degradation of the quality to perceive the relations with others and
a degradation of the proprieties of understanding the urban cityscape. Although
the geometrical and functional structuration of the interior and exterior space
presuppose a balanced relation between the intimate life and the public life,
the practicalities of the housing organization and the segmented urban planning
created the certainty of a cleavage between aspiration and realisation.ÂÂÂÂ ÂÂÂ
ÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂÂ INTERLOCK intervenes at
the level of the consciousness of the exhibition visitor as an aesthetic device
which target the production of a reflection oriented both on the perception of
a dynamic personal living, and on the advanced relation between the basis of an
ideal architectural structure and the real field of implementation for living
in the build space and in the urban space. ÂÂ
