The architect Peter Haimerl (Munich) will present the concept of Zoomtown in lothringer13 using installations and animated films. In addition the "urban brainpool" will provide further information on the latest approaches to urban design and planning issues. A number of 3-D-animations illustrate life in Zoomtown as experienced by a fictitious inhabitant. The exhibition introduces different aspects of this urban vision, such as Zoomliner, a new traffic system and Reservoir, the concentration of all basic urban functions. Paraspace will be presented as a new urban spatial capacity gained by using parametric planning processes. Zoomtown can be initiated at any time just by altering the existing infrastructure: On a larger scale by gradually implementing efficient means of transport, on the city scale by reclaiming urban landscape and on the personal level through the usage of individual building structures. 20 July 2001, from 6.00 p.m. onwards MedienKunstPerspektiven 2001: City pilots - architecture and planning concepts for a cityscape in flux Discussions/talks with: Marc Feustel (MVRDV, Rotterdam), Peter Haimerl (Munich), Matthias Hollwich (etekt, Zurich), Markus Jatsch und Gunther Laux (Jatsch Laux Architekten, Munich), Johannes Schele/Caro Baumann (more platz ag, Amsterdam), Paul Schlo?bauer (Landsberg/Lech) Chaired by Michaela Busenkell (http://www.a-matter.com) Presented by Andreas Ruby Also featuring SHINTO - japanese electro-pop by Hans Platzgumer + ca mi tokujiro and realprodukt Lokal MedienKunstPerspektiven 2001 is organised by the cultural department of Munich and [m] Medienforum Munchen e.
