The following main topics will be addressed: - The benefits of Information Society for citizens and for local and regional authorities - The problems relating to the development of the IT infrastructure and legal systems in CEE - The possibilities of know-how transfer within the framework of European programmes - Presentation of successful local projects from different European countries Organisers The seminar is organised by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe and the Committee of the Regions of the European Union. Harghita County Council is the host organisation and responsible for practical arrangements of the seminar. Languages Simultaneous interpretation into English, French, German and Russian will be provided. Alternatively, there are direct trains from Budapest (Hungary) or Bucharest (Romania). Seminar fee Admission to the seminar is free. However, participants will be asked to pay the cost of lunches and coffee, totalling USD 60 during the seminar. Excursion Optional excursion to Lake St Ann on Saturday, 10 October.
