Bringing together artists, institutions and audiences in true collaboration this summer the Secret Cities team are developing the work from a traditional photographic exhibition format into a new interactive projection based installation with the support of Arts Council England, Manchester Libraries, People's History Museum and the people behind some of the UK's largest lighting events.
In the next Secret Cities: Immersion workshop we will leave Manchester and take to the hills.
The workshops invite you to learn about the Secret Cities team's approach, enabling you to learn the practical and artistic skills employed by Andrew Brooks in producing his spectacular photography and get access to Photoshop training from the artist.
Starting at 10.30am at Edale station we will be exploring Landscape Photography along a 10km circular photographic walk from the valley bottom to the geologically dramatic edges of Kinder Scout. Taking in Golden Clough, Nether Tor, Upper Tor and an energetic stream scramble back down the walk will take a full day and involves an easy but strenuous climb.
The walk is FREE but there are limited places for safety reasons.
The walk will then be followed up by an optional evening of Photoshop training with Andrew Brooks back at Manchester Central Library's Media Lounge on the 6th August - £25.
