I am not tooting my own prestige, only factually mentioning that by using the "focus and exponent" method of Genius 2000 I can out-spam and jam all those military bitches. Eryk has seen me do it to the whole artworld. I am a Leviathan there. I accomplished this essentially by making no compromises whatsoever with existing outlets and their ability to deliver an audience. I blasted the location of the audience out of the continuum of history. I made my own network, my own audience. This is the best thing I've done. And Laura, I'm not boasting. As soon as ordinary people start pressing the artworld and literature world and media world to deal with Genius 2000, they will find enormous yet uncoercive power behind their protests. Just for kicks and experimentation Laura, send Steve Dietz at the Walker an email at steve.dietz@walkerart.org, or David Ross at director@sfmoma.org. Ask them for their opinion of Genius 2000 and Max Herman because you are considering doing a group show and you want to know if I am artistically legitimate and/or substantive, how well-known I am in the artworld, if they know of any legitimate art I've done, etc. It might seem gratuitous, but the media fortress is cobbled together out of lies and liars. You only need to break one--really break it--and you get a flood phenomenon. They are building levees, and we all know what happens when the levee breaks. People rock once again, for the cup. > Looking back on it, I think the best thing that could have happened that day > would have been a full blown street battle, two blocks down from 1600. I've been asking myself, when might it become morally necessary to take measures that my mom for example would consider excessive and self-destructive. My mom believes that the Supreme court can be rehabbed in a couple of decades etc. She hates Bush but her peace of mind depends on not getting upset about things. What would prompt marches like in the 60's, huge, non-violent but totally humiliating and damaging gatherings of citizens against the crimes of the government? Perhaps some revelation that Bush had authorized the use of chemical weapons in urban areas for "population control." At what point did the French Resistance "La Resistance" in WWII decide to start fighting the vichy gov't? What about the conspiracy among saner officers to end Hitler's reign early? Or Trotsky, etc.? Lots of americans have died for freedom, like Patrick Henry, the soldiers of Chief George, maybe even Mumia will die for it (although I am contacting him in order to make the world a better place for him and all). I am a peaceful person who hasn't struck anyone in anger since I was about five years old. I put my time in at school and gave them many chances before I decided to humiliate them all. I believe the Bush cadre, a criminal tyrannical minority, can be subdued within the rights guaranteed by the constitution. But people have to unite and commit; not without individuality and not without skepticism, but unite and commit nonetheless. Genius 2000 is my formula of how that can happen. Unity and co-operation without fascism and committment without loss of discernment and voice. So let's make Bush and his fuckfaces wish they'd all become golf pros. All of history wants us to do it, and by history I mean Brecht, Galileo, Sappho, Goldman, Wollstonecraft, Sacco and Vanzetti, Blake, Gandhi, Franklin, Lincoln, me, and my mom. Plus we don't even need bush. We can make his military bitch Coalman squirm right here, keeping Wellstone in, and we can pinch Ventura's ass too. I'm talking Minnesotaland here. All you people elsewhere, you can do it in your town too. Plus we got indymedia. We've got plenty to work with. The big shit-shovelers of the internet, the cognoscenti, are coming around. We've got the best horses ever. Game Five and final at home, gunning for the cup. We can sell G2K hockey pucks for free. I lost my train of thought which was, because of our notoriety and controversial character, us Genius 2000 can become visible, and the ruling elites treatment of us equally noticeable or perhaps even moreso. Like the non-violent marches in Selma, we let them beat our asses and that's what brings them down. Beat our asses figuratively that is. We wave satire swords in from of the Governor's Mansion every Saturday for example and give away free lemonade and pamphlets, as well as having squirtgun shoot-out-the-candles booths, seated massage, and my special grilled cheese sandwiches cut in the shape of the letter G. Broadcast it on my cable show. Simple. I don't care to think about what will happen if this fails. Frankly, I don't think anything else will work.
