<nettime> online petition against unlimited data retention |
Dear Nettimers, On 29 May the European Parliament will vote on a very important new Privacy Directive, regulating communications privacy and data retention. Members of GILC, the Global Internet Liberty Campaign (www.gilc.org) are seeking endorsement for their urgent letter to the President and Members of the European Parliament. If you represent an NGO, please send your support to Marc Rotenberg <rotenberg@epic.org>, director of EPIC, including your (full) name, e-mail adress and url of the organisation. Two GILC-members, stop1984.com and quintessenz have also launched an online mechanism for individual signatures: http://www.stop1984.com/index2.php?text=letter.txt The deadline for this letter is 22 May 2002, so please sign on today if you support this protest!
