AMAFIP / Against Mail Art Fake International Projects During the past few years we have seen a series of irregularities concerning Mail Art activities with respect to invitations and their organizers. This group has been established to oppose any false announcements of mail art projects and to oppose anyone who uses mail art improperly: in such cases we will circulate a denunciation to the international mail art community, warning about the case in question. The characteristics to keep in mind as irregularities, false projects, and/or bad organizations are: 1. If no documentation is sent to all the participants of the project. 2. If the works in the project are not received by mail. 3. If a curator or jury makes a selection among the works received. 4. If all the works are not exhibited. 5. If any of the works received are sold in any way. The measures to take against any of these irregularities are as follows: 1. Do not spread the invitation in question. 2. Do not participate in the project in question. 3. Do not permit the abuse of confidence and the use of the artists' works. 4. No not let yourself be fooled by people who "USE" Mail Art. 5. Circulate the denunciation among your colleagues in the international community, If you agree with the group and you want to be a support member, send a message. For any doubts, questions, suggestions, and/or denunciations, contact AMAFIP at: amafip2001@hotmail.com Some Supports Members: The Fake John M. Bennet (USA); The Fake Vortice (Argentina); We thank you for your attention and for spreading this information. ............................................................ ......................... ............................................................ ............. AMAFIP / Against Mail Art Fake International Projects > > > Mail Art Announcement < < < If you have received the invitation below this announcement, we want to warn you that said invitation is an ethical fraud against Mail Art and the International Community of Mail Artists. If these persons convene an "International Show of Mail Art", why do they receive works personally? In the face of this artistic fraud, we feel obliged to send this announcement to prevent participation in and the spreading of this false project; that is why we say: 1. Don't let yourself be fooled by people who "USE" Mail Art. 2. Do not spread this invitation in any way. 3. Do not participate in the project in question. 4. Do not permit the abuse of your confidence or the use of your works. 5. Circulate the corresponding denunciation your colleagues. If you agree with the denunciation, resend this information to your colleagues. [Translated from the Spanish by The Fake John M.
